Introducing LDR-M20

We have listened to our customers, and improved the world’s first Hobby LIDAR LDR-M10, introduced a year ago. The new LDR-M20 has a reduced size, weight and power to accommodate airborne applications. The integrated A/D allows data to be read through a serial TTL interface. The range and update rate have been increased to 10 feet and 1kHz respectively, allowing for faster and further detection, while still maintaining a typical 0.16 inch RMS resolution.

FAQ

Can you use multiple units next to each other without the modules interfering with each other?

Yes, multiple units can share the same field of view.

What will happen if I use the device beyond its intended temperature range?

The device may continue to work, however it is not guaranteed to do so.

Can I use an external step up power supply to boost voltage from 3.3V - 5V power?

Yes, however you must make sure that the supply does not create excessive high frequency ripple or noise. We have used DFRobots DFR0123 DC-DC converter with success.

Can LDR-M20 be used in rotating / scanning applications?

Yes, we have made a unit that spins at a rate of 5 revolutions per second.
